because responsible citizens clean up after their government |

We're no
Dahr Jamal, but here's what we've been up to:
2007 March 17: Jodie and Lila again visited the Capital to join protesters marching to protest the war on it's 4th anniversary.
March 14: Lila visited the Capital steps to join with protesters of the war in Iraq while inside, Iraq Resolution Passes Senate Panel On Party Lines March 7: Lila visited Colorado Representative Mark Udall's office to request he vote down further funding for the Iraq war this month. March 2: We went to see David Barsamian of Alternative Radio at the Friend's house in Boulder. Barsamian just returned from a trip to Iran and talked about our impending war with them. January 11: We signed up for the True Majority Surge Protest held on the Capitol steps in Denver. Our signs were brilliant.
2006 October 23, 2006: Jodie and Lila went to hear a lecture on DU munitions presented in Boulder by former CU professor Adrienne Anderson. She devoted the majority of the lecture to a screening of Poison DUst. We left early, kind of disappointed. The movie had some new information about Vieques, South Korea, and the veterans denied DU testing by the government. However, the presentation was long and disjointed. Depleted Uranium, Invisible War is better. And there was no mention about tungsten, suggesting the lecture was based on outdated information. One good thing to come from this may be the revival of the Good Gov, Bad Prez Anti DU Movement. Which, of course, will have to clairify the tungsten angle first. June 12, 2006: Jodie and Lila went to see Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth. We highly recommend it. http://www.climatecrisis.net/ April 30, 2006: Jodie and Lila attended and participated in the Boulder Rally to end the genocide in Darfur. (read more: http://www.dailycamera.com/bdc/county_news/article/0,1713,BDC_2423_4663539,00.html ) April 7, 2006: Jodie withdrew her affiliation with the Democratic Party and became an independent. This action was in direct response to the lack of support by the Democrats for Senator Russ Feingold when he called for censure on the president, and when local Colorado Democrats remained home on the March 19th rally. March 19, 2006: Joined protesters at the Denver Capital, rallying against the war in Iraq. |
