The principle is that if somebody carries out terror against us or against our allies, it's terror, but if we carry out terror or our allies do, maybe much worse terror, against someone else, it's not terror, it's counter terror or it's a just war.

– Noam Chomsky, "
Power and Terror"

You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon'. Need I say more?

Anyone who has the power to make you believe absurdities has the power to
make you commit injustices.

As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit
atrocities.

What's Happening with Enron/WorldCom?

The corruption of Enron reaches far and deep, its impact much greater than it first appears. It would take months, if not years, to follow all the trails.

In just 15 years, Enron came out of nowhere to be America’s seventh largest company, employing 21,000 staff in more than 40 countries.

Many employees had personal pension funds consisting of Enron shares - a common situation in corporate America, where occupational schemes based on final salary payments are increasingly rare, and money purchase schemes, known as 401(K) plans, are the norm.

Enron encouraged such pensions, then forbade them from selling their stocks when the company share price came down.

In contrast, many Enron executives quickly cashed in their share options when the company’s fate became clear.

Political violence is an act of force, intimidation or abuse by a group or individual aimed at influencing, maintaining or seizing political power. The time has come to end such illegitimate violence perpetrated by our own United States government.
