Help Protect Child Refugees: Contact Your Senator Today
Each year the U.S. government finds more than 5,000 foreign-born children in the United States unaccompanied by a parent or guardian -- and puts them into detention, often for months, although most of them have committed no crime. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California has introduced a bill (S1129, the Unaccompanied Child Protection Act of 2003) that would help such children by providing them with pro bono lawyers and guardians and by improving the conditions in which they are confined. Please contact your Senator today to urge him/her to become a cosponsor of S1129.

Faced with growing resistance US prepares military repression in Iraq

GEORGE W BUSH - THE RESUME HE DOESN'T GIVE OUT!

We will control internal expenses. We must act immediately to take control of our destiny. Beginning right now, we will act to raise our prices, protect and grow our volume, and dramatically decrease our costs. Simply put, if it doesn’t improve our bottom-line in 2003, we just shouldn’t do it this year. Oh and yes we also be trying to be safe at the same time just in case you thought we might get a bit reckless with the cost cutting and do anything silly.

Conspiracy Corner

Like Chomsky I'm not ready to demonize my thought-provoking, critical thinking as conspiracy theory. Rather I prefer to look at the wrongs committed by the all-powerful nations as selfish, tunnel-visioned actions. When Bush orders American soldiers to invade and overthrow Iraq's government in pursuit of oil and its god-like power, I see this as simple selfishness. Yes, the US gov't will now control those vast amounts of liquid gold, use Iraq as a military stronghold in the Middle East, reign terror on anyone who seems a threat. But, the reasoning is not to kill off the Iraqis of the world, just Westernize them into buying and becoming dependent on American goods (though they're not really American because their produced in Taiwan). Bush isn't evil, he just wants to make everyone happy by bringing them Jesus and the American way. It's not a conspiracy, it's just good business.

This is what happened in Germany, with the Nazis... and people thought that they could stand it. Okay, they could just tolerate it because it didn't affect their personal lives.
We have to stop it. We have to stop it now, before it gets out of hand. This government is doing things that are not allowed in our constitution. So we have to react. What are people waiting for God's sake?
