Today the world faces a single man armed with weapons of mass destruction, manifesting an aggressive, bullying attitude, who may well plunge the world into chaos and bloodshed if he miscalculates. This person, belligerent, arrogant and sure of himself, truly is the most dangerous person on Earth. The problem is that his name is George W. Bush, and he is our president.

Jack M. Balkin, Professor of Constitutional Law and the First Amendment at Yale Law School

We can't find bin Laden, we haven't made real progress in finding key elements of Al Qaeda. They continue to be as great a threat today as they were one and a half years ago. So by what measure can we claim to be successful so far?

Tom Daschle, the Senate majority leader from South Dakota

STEP UP WITH InterAct

Our peace movement has succeeded in making Bush acknowledge us, our questions and concerns. He wanted to attack Iraq months ago, but we forced him to pass a Congressional resolution, which mandated a UN resolution. Now is the time to step up! With our new 5 Minute campaign, you can make a difference in just five minutes.

Total population of earth: 6.2 billion
Number of people living on less than $2 a day: 5 billion
 -Anita Roddick’s Take it Personally

Most American's feel like they don't have time to get involved, that their opinions don't matter and that their needs are disregarded by our politicians.  InterAct has stepped up with a new feature that allows you to take part in your community by simply investing 5 minutes of your time.

bullet Stop the Government’s Plan to Mine our Privacy The Pentagon's new Office of Information Awareness is building a system called "Total Information Awareness" that would effectively provide government officials with immediate access to our personal information: all of our communications (phone calls, emails and web searches), financial records, purchases, prescriptions, school records, medical records and travel history.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIOUSNESS

There will be no oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge this year.

Two guys and a dog seek to end the latest junk clogging up your mailbox.

Victory for the Amazon, its people and a big leaf tree.

Effect of thousands more tons of oil sunken with tanker uncertain.

Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we do          about peace more about killing than we do about living
-Omar Bradley

 TRUTH vs TRUTH

Hashem Aghajari has been sentenced unfairly to death for speaking out against Iranian reformists . . . but by refusing to properly utilize due process he has stalled the legal process.

The US's war on 'terrorism' has provided innumerable benefits to Afghanis . . . More people rallied to save Buddha than dying children.

The war on terrorism was declared September 11, 2001 when bin Laden attacked the US civilian population . . . started 20 years ago with the same policy makers who currently hold office.

Now that the weapons inspectors have been allowed into Iraq the threat of war has diminished ... There will be a war regardless of what is found in Iraq.

President Bush's No Child Left Behind Act will help close the achievement gap between disadvantaged and minority students and their peers. . .  The bill contains a provision requiring public secondary schools to provide military recruiters not only with access to facilities, but also with contact information for every student -- or face a cutoff of all federal aid.

The United States government follows its governing constitution, particularly the Bill of Rights The CIA feels it holds greater power than our Bill of Rights and assumes the role of Judge, Jury and Executioner all in one.

The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.

Political violence is an act of force, intimidation or abuse by a group or individual aimed at influencing, maintaining or seizing political power. The time has come to end such illegitimate violence perpetrated by our own United States government.
